Stepping Back in Time at Dartmouth's Historic Bayard's Cove Inn

Updated: 22 hours ago

Walk through the narrow, cobbled entrance into Bayard's Cove, and you'll find yourself standing before one of Dartmouth's most historic buildings: the Bayard's Cove Inn. This medieval gem, once known as Agincourt House, offers more than just a place to stay—it's a journey through time itself.

This timber-framed beauty, originally a merchant's home, dates back to the early 15th century, a time when Dartmouth's streets were far narrower than they are today. Its construction near the water's edge tells a story of centuries of bustling maritime trade and local life. After housing an antique business for a time, this ancient building was lovingly renovated to become the charming Inn you see today.

Today, the Inn serves as a modern café, bar, and restaurant, offering seven luxurious en-suite rooms. With every creak of the floorboards and every glimpse of the exposed woodwork, you'll feel the weight of history in a space where contemporary comfort and timeless character collide.
